Privacy Policy for Droch Training & License

Droch Training & License (“Droch,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how information is handled through drochtraining.ca and the Android application Droch Crane Exam Prep Canada (ca.drochtraining.craneprep).

1. App account information

Users must register to use the app. Registration may be completed using an email address and password or a supported Google sign-in option.

We may process:

• Email address;

• Display name, if provided;

• A unique account identification number;

• Email-verification and account status; and

• Authentication information necessary to secure the account.

Authentication is managed using Google Firebase. Droch does not receive or store users’ passwords in readable form.

2. Study information

The app stores information connected with the user’s account, including:

• Practice-question progress;

• Quiz answers and scores;

• Mock-test results and history;

• Bookmarked questions;

• Completed study sections; and

• App preferences.

This information is stored in the cloud so users can restore their progress and access it on supported devices.

3. Technical information

Google Firebase, Google Play and Android services may automatically process limited technical information necessary for authentication, security and app operation. This may include:

• IP address;

• Device and operating-system information;

• App version;

• User-agent information;

• Security and authentication signals; and

• Limited diagnostic information.

The initial app release will not use third-party advertising or advertising trackers. It will not request access to precise location, contacts, photographs, microphone, text messages, call logs or health information.

4. How information is used

Information is used only when reasonably necessary to:

• Create, verify and secure user accounts;

• Save and restore study progress;

• Provide quizzes, mock tests and study features;

• Respond to support and deletion requests;

• Diagnose technical problems;

• Prevent fraud, misuse and security threats;

• Maintain the website and app; and

• Meet applicable legal obligations.

Droch does not sell or rent personal information and does not use app information for targeted advertising.

5. Service providers

Information may be processed by service providers necessary to operate our services, including:

• Google Firebase for authentication and cloud-stored progress;

• Google Play and Android services for app distribution and security;

• Webador for website hosting, forms and related website services; and

• Technology or professional providers assisting with security, support, accounting or legal compliance.

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices. Information may be processed outside Canada and may be subject to the laws of the country where it is processed.

6. Website information

If a person contacts us through the website or by email, we may receive their name, email address, message and any information they voluntarily provide.

Our website provider may process technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, cookies and access time for website delivery, maintenance, security and permitted analytics.

Website visitors can manage available cookie choices through the website’s cookie controls.

7. Retention and account deletion

Account and study information is retained while the account remains active or as reasonably necessary to provide the service.

Users may permanently delete their account inside the app through:

Profile → Settings → Account → Delete Account

After identity verification, we will delete the account and associated cloud-saved progress, scores, bookmarks and preferences. Deletion requests will normally be completed within 30 days.

Limited information may be retained when required for legal, security or fraud-prevention purposes. Uninstalling the app alone does not delete a registered account.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information being handled. However, no electronic system or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Users are responsible for protecting their passwords and account access. Users should never send their passwords to Droch by email or through a website form.

9. User rights and choices

Users may contact us to:

• Request access to or correction of their personal information;

• Ask how their information is handled;

• Request deletion of information;

• Withdraw consent where applicable; or

• Make a privacy-related complaint.

We may need to verify the requester’s identity before responding.

10. Children’s privacy

The app is intended for adult crane operators, apprentices and people preparing for occupational examinations. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

A parent or guardian who believes a child has created an account may contact us to request its deletion.

11. Free service and future changes

The app’s initial content is provided free of charge, with no advertising.

If we later introduce paid content, subscriptions, analytics, advertising or materially different data practices, we will update this policy and the app’s Google Play disclosures before those features are introduced.

12. Independent educational tool

Droch Crane Exam Prep Canada is an independent educational study tool. It is not an official Red Seal, government, examination authority, crane manufacturer or certification-agency application.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our app, website, technology or legal obligations change. The revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
